An estimated 124,000 workers would lose their jobs over the next four years under the 25% tariffs Trump threatened in March. BC’s unemployment rate would rise to 6.7 percent this year and 7.1 percent next year.
This would be catastrophic to workers and communities across our province. And now Trump's threatening to hike that number to 35%.
Workers are the backbone of our economy, and our province only prospers if working people prosper.
Tell our provincial and federal politicians:
Our governments' number one priority must be to protect workers and defend their jobs.
And whatever supports governments provide to business must be tied to preserving workers’ jobs.
